Concerns about citywide rezoning affecting property tax assistance eligibility in Calgary have been addressed, with the City clarifying that rezoning will not disqualify properties from the program. The eligibility criteria have been updated on the City’s website. Applications for assistance increased from 15,443 in 2023 to 19,087 in 2024. Residential properties recently saw an average value increase of 15%. Applications for assistance are open from June 1 to December 31, 2025.
